Bringing Sexy Back
If there is one major movement across the board for the fall silhouette, it’s that after a few seasons of baby dolls, billowy blouses and tent-like tunics, the feminine figure is finally returning to the forefront. Slimming looks replaced all things frumpy and oversized, while boring blacks were replaced by a rainbow of bright hues. As decorations go, sequins and feathers add luxury to everything from suiting to skirts. Minimalism is not an option for fall’s decadent looks.

Tie Dye Déjà Vu
The 60s made a cameo in the form of degrade — a watercolor-like transition of color similar to tie-dye — on the Paris and Milan runways. Degrade has surfaced as one of the hot trends. Marc Jacobs’ designs for Louis Vuitton featured gorgeous silk skirts with the dye application, an inspiration of the painterly gestures of artist Vermeer. At Prada, minimalism rang through the collection but Miuccia perked up the palette with degrade distractions, including most accessories. That said, this season’s It bag roster will certainly have a few of her amazing patent degrade creations.
